The first medals and decorations of sovereign Kyrgyzstan were established by Jogorku Kenesh on 16 April, 1996. It is the highest degree of difference of the Kyrgyz Republic - Kyrgyz Respublikasynyn Baatyry (Hero of the Kyrgyz Republic), Orders of "Manas", "Baatyr ene" (the order of "Mother-heroine"); medals "Erdik" ("For courage and bravery"), "Dank" ("Glory"), "Ene Danky" ("Mother's Glory"). This was the beginning of the award system of sovereign Kyrgyzstan. The first institution of medals and decorations was an important event in the history of the statehood of the Kyrgyz Republic.

symbol of presidential power.
It consists of three parts:
- The sign is 77 mm in diameter, made of gold and silver and contains an image of Manas in the centre;
- Triangular-shaped amulet is made of silver (symbol of eternity - past, present and future);
- The chain is made of 24 links: 12 - in the form of Ak Shumkar (White Falcon), 12 others - in the form of heaven leopard (winged leopard). Top
The highest degree of difference of Kyrgyz Respublikasynyn Baatyr
(Hero of the Kyrgyz Republic) with the presentation of a special sign
It was established by law "On the establishment of the state awards of the Kyrgyz Republic" dated 16 April, 1996. The highest degree of excellence is given to citizens for outstanding service to the state and the people, committing heroic deeds in the name of freedom and independence of the Kyrgyz Republic.
The highest degree of distinction "Kyrgyz Respublikasynyn Baatyr" is awarded by the President of the Kyrgyz Republic only once. A person who is awarded the highest degree of excellence, awarded a special sign "Ak-Shumkar".
The special sign "Ak-Shumkar" is made of gold and is a symmetrical star with eight rays of the upper level, forming a circle of 40 millimetres in diameter, and sixteen rays of the lower level, forming a circle of 30 millimetres in diameter. The outlines of the rays, the edges and the shape are all reminiscent of mountain peaks and opened up mountain tulips. The central disc of the star is framed by an embossed silver laurel wreath. In the centre of the disc is an embossed image of the sacred "Ak-Shumkar" made of silver. The clasp is presented in the form of tumar (ancient Kyrgyz mascot of triangular shape), where on a red enamel field an embossed image of tyundyuk is placed. Top
Order of "Manas"
Order of "Manas" is also the highest award of the Kyrgyz Republic. It was established by law "On the establishment of the state awards of the Kyrgyz Republic" dated 16 April, 1996. Order of "Manas" is awarded to individuals for outstanding contributions to the protection and strengthening of the state and democratic society, the unity of the people, augmenting economic, spiritual and intellectual potential of the country. Order of "Manas" has three degrees: Order of "Manas" I degree, Order of "Manas" II degree, Order of "Manas" III degree.
The award of Order of "Manas" is made in the following order: Order of "Manas" III degree, II degree, I degree. In exceptional cases, the President of the Kyrgyz Republic may award citizens the Order of "Manas» I degree, bypassing awarding the Order of "Manas" III and II degrees.
Order of "Manas" I degree
Order of "Manas" I degree consists of two parts - the golden eight-pointed star with a diameter of 60 millimetres and a gold consignment middle, consisting of a blue enamel of two interlocking squares, symbolising the sky and water as a symbol of life, and enamelled red central circle - the symbol of the sun. In the centre of the circle is the golden embossed image of Manas riding a horse with a banner fluttering in the wind.
Order of "Manas" II degree
Order of "Manas" II degree is identical to the Order I degree. In this case, the star is made of silver, but gold pieces include a consignment centre and eight leaves, forming a circle between rays of the star. In the corners of the blue interlocking squares are gold speckles. The enamel surface is blue and red in colour.
Order of "Manas" III degreeOrder of "Manas" III degree is made of silver. The enamel coating is in blue and red colour. Top
Order of "Danaker"It was approved by the Decree of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic dated 24 November 1999 #300.
Order of "Danaker" is awarded to individuals for outstanding contribution to the strengthening of peace, friendship and cooperation between nations, for a particularly fruitful activity in the inter-ethnic harmony, achievements in science, rapprochement and mutual enrichment of national cultures.
Order of "Danaker" has a shape of a star with forty evenly radiating rays made of gold with a diameter of 42 mm.
On the front side of the Order is a silver lining of 30 mm in diameter in the shape of a perfect circle, on the perimeter of which are 40 hemispheres, combined with the golden rays of the star.
The inside of the silver lining is made in the shape of a circle with the effigy of the Kyrgyz national ornament with blue round elements made by enamel.
In the centre of the silver lining, a blue circle with a diameter of 16 mm is placed, also made by enamel with thin walls of silver in the form of a half-arches symbolising the meridians of the globe.
In the centre of the coloured circle there is an embossed inscription saying "Danaker".
Above and below the inscription, on the vertical axis of the circle is an embossed image of stars made of gold.

Order of "Baatyr ene"Order of "Baatyr ene" was established by law "On the establishment of the state awards of the Kyrgyz Republic" on 16 April, 1996.
Order of "Baatyr ene" is awarded to:
• Mothers with and fully brought-up up to ten or more children, when the tenth child reaches seven years of age providing other children are still alive;
• mothers whose children received the highest degree of difference - Kyrgyz Respublikasynyn Baatyr.
The order itself is made of silver with gold plating and represents a seven-ray star with a diameter of 52 mm. In the centre of the star is a consignment disc with a blue enamel background, symbolising the blue cloudless sky and white enamel circular frame, containing inscription - "Baatyr ene". The disc contains a stylised image of tyundyuk - a symbol of hearth and home. Above - there is an image of the star "Altyn Kazyk." On the reverse side is a number of the order. Top
Medal of "Erdik"
Medal of "Erdik" was established on 16 April, 1996. Medal of "Erdik" is awarded to individuals for their selfless act of courage and bravery shown during the rescue of people, protection of public order, in the fight against crime, in times of natural disasters, fires, accidents and other emergencies, as well as brave and decisive acts performed during military, call of duty and civic services, in circumstances involving risk to life.
The medal itself is made of silver and consists of two parts: a rectangular clasp and a silver truncated disc of interconnected system of links. In the centre of the disc is an image of snow leopard as a symbol of courage, endurance and wisdom. On the edges of the disc are the elements of the National Flag (sun rays) and the inscription "Erdik." Three vertically arranged strips of white, blue and sky blue colours on the clasp symbolise white mountain peaks of Ala-Too, water as a symbol of life and the blue sky as a symbol of peace. Top
Medal of "Dank"Medal of "Dank" was established by law "On the establishment of the state awards of the Kyrgyz Republic" on 16 April, 1996. Medal of "Dank" is awarded to individuals for significant achievements in public service, industrial, scientific, technical, artistic, educational, social and charitable activities.
The medal itself consists of two parts - a silver clasp and a silver disk interconnected with an original fastening system placed in the depths of the disc. The clasp has two skewed laurel branches - a symbol of glory, above which are two rectangles covered with hot red enamel.
The disc is made in an unconventional manner: in the centre and on the edges of the disc are the exit-holes, giving the impression of lightness. Down the centre of the disc is an inscription "Dank", and on either side of the centre are the elements of the Kyrgyz national ornament. Top
Medal of "Ene Danky"Medal of "Ene Danky" established by law "On the establishment of the state awards of the Kyrgyz Republic" on 16 April, 1996. Medal of "Ene Danky" is awarded to:
• mothers who gave birth to and raised nine children, when the ninth child reaches the age of 1;
• women who have worked flawlessly for more than 15 years in teaching and educational institutions for orphans and children with disabilities;
• women who are actively working in charities and institutions who have made significant contributions to the protection of motherhood and childhood, and having a total length of service for more than 20 years.
The medal itself consists of a silver clasp and a silver disc which are interconnected. The clasp is made as a TUMAR (ancient Kyrgyz mascot of a triangular shape) along the upper edge of which is the Kyrgyz national ornament, and in the middle is the enamel coated image, symbolising the cloudless sky, snowy mountain peaks and blue "Issyk-Kul" lake with coordinating colours of enamel: blue, white, ultramarine.
On the outer ring of the disc is the circular inscription "Kyrgyz Respublikasy". On the exit (inner) disc between the beams and the ring is a reduced flat image of the order "Baatyr ene", in the centre of which is the inscription "Ene Danky". The exit spaces form the segments of equal size. Top
